Happy Couples Sleep Better

Maintaining a good relationship with your significant other might help you sleep better at night, finds a new study. Turkish researchers analyzed data from almost 350 American couples who were asked about how well they slept. The results show that those who were in the most “responsive” relationships, or those who felt understood and cared for, slept best. The finding held even when controlling for other factors such as age, weight, and general health. Study leader Emre Selçuk explains, “Having responsive partners who would be able to protect and comfort us should things go wrong is the most effective way for us humans to reduce anxiety and tension.” (Daily Mail)
